National
Commander Jim Sims
has served as the Washington Department Commander,
Region III Commander, National Junior Vice Commander, and National Senior Vice Commander.
Sims served as a US Marine for more than 26
years, retiring in 1988 as a Colonel. Assignments included Company Commander in Vietnam, Commanding Officer of 3rd Battalion,
4th Marines, Aide to the White House Chief of Staff, Secretary of the General
Staff at Marine Corps Headquarters, and Chief of Political Military Analysis for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. After retirement, Sims was Director of the Washington State Pollution
Liability Insurance Agency for 12 years and, most recently retired from Time
Oil Company in Seattle. He served for three terms
as an elected Supervisor of the Mason County Conservation District. Sims and his wife Ginny live in Shelton, Washington. |
