Patriot
Joseph Palagyi was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a
graduate of Cleveland Benedictine High School and Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio
where he attended on a joint football and baseball scholarship. Joe did his graduate
work, (MBA program) at St. Johns
University in N.Y.C. Joe volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1966
and completed Officer Candidate School in April of 1967 at Ft. Sill,
Oklahoma (Artillery). He served as a Forward Observer in Bravo Company, 2/506 PIR,
and 101ST Airborne Division. 1Lt PAlagyi was promoted to the 1St Battalion 506 PIR,
101ST ABN as the Artillery Battalion Liaison Officer. Joe also served with Company
C 10th Special Forces Group (ABN) SF.
In addition to the
Purple Heart, Palagyi holds two awards of the Bronze Star, with
“V” device, one for Meritorious service, the Air Medal 1st OLC, the Army
Commendation Medal, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Joe has an extensive background in
Public Accounting, Marketing, and Sales Management, and has served as Partner in
a CPA firm in Sonoma County, California where his specialty was Practice Development.
Patriot Palagyi first joined the Military Order of the Purple Heart while residing
in Napa, Ca in 1998. Joe has served as Chapter Commander, Department Jr. and Sr.
Vice, and Chair of the California Department Finance Committee. Patriot Palagyi
holds the distinction as being named, “California Patriot of the Year,” 2006-2007.
