Regional Field Supervisor
The MOPH Regional Field Supervisor (RFS) is responsible for carrying out the MOPH Service Program at the regional level as outlined by the National Service Director (NSD) in concert with the National Commander. The RFS reports directly to the NSD and ensures that the National Service Officers (NSO) and Administrative Assistants under their jurisdiction are both diligent and appropriate in their responses to all veterans, veteran’s organizations and the general public. The RFS is also a seasoned, accredited NSO with oversight responsibilities and authority to ensure that claims filed for benefits follow appropriate legislation and laws to ensure that the claim is valid. The RFS participates in civic functions such as panel discussions or mass communication programs and may offer technical advice at congressional or other government hearings.
National Service Officer
The National Service Officer (NSO) recognized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs serves as an accredited veteran’s representative who advises and aids veterans or their dependents in presenting disability, insurance, or pension claims for benefits under federal, state, or local laws. Additionally, in cooperation with Veterans Administration and other agencies advises veterans on insurance, vocational, and other matters.
Provides administrative support to a Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) National Service Officer, and veteran clients. Duties include, but are not limited to: drafting and editing correspondence, filing, processing claims, data entry, answering phones and responding to internet e-mail. This is a full-time position. Must also possess the ability to work in a multi-tasking environment; must be able to quickly understand policy/procedural guidance and be able to work with minimal supervision.
