The
purpose of the First Responder Program is to honor Law Enforcement Officers
and Fire Fighters who are killed or wounded in the line of duty. It is administered
by the National Public Safety Officer who is working with Department Commanders
to expand the program
throughout the nation.
Department Commanders appoint Department
First Responder Coordinators to establish and maintain Department-wide programs,
involving assigned Chapters, to honor these heroic members of the community. In
turn, Chapter Commanders appoint Chapter First Responder Coordinators to work
with their Department counterparts and the National Public Safety Officer.
Public Safety
Officers KILLED or WOUNDED in the line of duty are recognized with MOPH Memorial
Plaques, produced by Personalized Just For You, LLC, which can be ordered by
clicking here.
