  Harry C. Smart joined the United States Marine Corps from 1952 – 1956. Wounded March
29, 1953 on outpost Vegas, during the Nevada Cities Outpost Battles. Awarded the Purple Heart while in the
U.S. Naval Hospital, Yokosuka, Japan. Employed by the
City of San Antonio, Texas for over 30 years; as a Police Officer, Personnel Investigator
and Administrator, Records & Identification Section, San Antonio Police Department.
Under his leadership, the San Antonio Police Department, Records and Identification
Section was selected as a site for a Records Management research project conducted
by the
University of Tennessee. In addition, he served as Chairman, Criminal Justice,
Industry Action Committee, at the International Level for 3 years.
