Lee Brown

Region IV Commander

Patriot Lee R. Brown III is a retired human resources professional who is extensively involved in volunteer work and is always on the hunt for organizations in need of a fiscal house cleaning. Patriot Brown is the former Director of Human Resources for Edward Waters College. He has also held human resource management positions with HabiJax and the Northeast Florida Regional Council.

Patriot Brown is a Gulf War Veteran of the United States Army, where he was decorated with numerous medals and commendations, including the Purple Heart. Lee was re-elected as region IV Commander at the National Convention in Dallas, Texas. He previously held positions within the Order as the Department of Florida Commander, the Department of Florida Senior Vice Commander, and as the Department of Florida Finance Officer. Prior to that, he served as the Department's Chief of Staff.

Patriot Brown also served as President of the Purple Heart Veterans of Florida, Inc.; a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the activities of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Department of Florida. He also served as the Quartermaster for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1689 in Jacksonville. He is a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.

Patriot Brown currently serves on the board of directors of Ending Homelessness, a non-profit dedicated to reducing the rate of chronic homelessness to functional zero. He was also appointed by Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton to serve on the Duval County Job Opportunities Board. He has also served on the boards of several organizations, including Theatre Jacksonville and Hubbard House, Jacksonville's domestic abuse shelter. He has served the Jacksonville Community Council Inc. as its Fund Development Chair, and in a later role, as its Treasurer. Patriot Brown is also a 2006 graduate of Leadership Jacksonville and a Gold Life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Patriot Brown is a graduate of Jacksonville University where he earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Sociology. He also earned a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University.
