National Viola Chairman

Gary Kinser joined MOPH in 2002, and is a member and Chief Finance Officer of Chapter 987. He’s also Commander, Department of Minnesota, and now National Viola Chairman. . . . .Born in 1947, Patriot Kinser completed high school in Minneapolis in the spring of 1965 and joined the Army in that October as an infantryman. Sent to Vietnam in 1966, he was assigned to the Fourth Calvary, 25th Infantry Division with a MOS of Scout Infantry. . . . . He received his Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in “Hobo Woods” on May 21st 1966 and spent two weeks in the Saigon hospital before returning to his unit. Patriot Kinser rotated out of Vietnam in April 1967 and spent his last one and one-half years in the service assigned to the 24th Infantry Division, first in Germany and later at Ft. Riley in Kansas. . . . . Patriot Kinser received an honorable discharge in October 1968, eventually returned to college and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1982 with a BS degree in Computer Science/Psychology. Most of his work life was spent at Control Data Corporation, managing people and projects in the area of business and scientific application of computers . . . . His favorite hobby is photography and he’s married to Kathy - they have one son, Andrew.
