Commander Kelly Everett Kelly, a native of Springfield, Missouri, joined the Marine Corps in January 1965, at age 17, served two tours in Vietnam, where he was wounded twice. After getting out of the Marine Corps in January 1971, Patriot Kelly joined the Army in February 1971; and was assigned duties as a Military Policeman. In 1973 Patriot Kelly became a criminal investigator with the Army CID command where he remained until his retirement from service in January 1987 with rank of CWO-3.

After retirement from service, Patriot Kelly took a position with the Army’s 7th Medical Command in Europe as a Family Advocate and Drug and Alcohol Counselor. In 1993 Patriot Kelly moved to Scranton, PA where he was a counselor with the Vet Center.

In 2000 he became an NSO with MOPH and opened the first MOPH NSO office in Missouri at the St Louis VA Regional Office. In 2007 he retired to Buffalo, MO and became a reserve deputy sheriff for Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, where he is still a reserve Sergeant.

In 2012 Patriot Kelly started a Drug and Alcohol – Youth Education Program (DAA-YEP) with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and MOPH Department of Missouri, which travels around the state educating youth (and adults) of pitfalls of drug and alcohol abuse. Patriot Kelly continues to assist veterans and their families with veteran benefits information and served as the Department Commander for Missouri from 2010-2015.

While in the service Patriot Kelly completed both an Associate and Bachelor degrees from University of New York. While stationed in Italy in 1968 he met and married his lovely wife Concetta (Tina) and they have two daughters. Patriot Kelly is a life member of Chapter 621, Springfield, Missouri, joining MOPH in 1994. He served as a Chapter Service Officer and Department Service Officer, Junior Vice Commander, Senior Vice Commander and Commander before being elected Region Commander and most recently, National Inspector.
