National Senior Vice Commander
Patriot Johns Patriot Jason E. Johns was elected as National Senior Vice Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in 2016 at the 84th National Convention in Norfolk, VA. Before being elected to Senior Vice Commander Johns was National Judge Advocate, from 2014 to 2016, and National Deputy Legislative Director from 2013-14. Patriot Johns is also a former Deputy Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and Junior Vice Commander for the MOPH Dept. of WI. He currently also serves as the State Legislative Officer for WI.

In addition to his national and state officer positions with the MOPH, Jason volunteers his time in his community and serves on various organizations’ boards and committees that serve veterans such as The Fisher House of Wisconsin, Camp Ryan Adams, Veterans for Smart Power National Leadership Council, the University of Wisconsin Veterans Legal Clinic as well as being a Senior Associate with the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation. In addition, Jason serves as the POW/MIA Chairman for the VFW of WI and is the State President for the Purple Heart Riders.

Jason is an attorney in Madison, WI where he is the President of N.M.L.B. Veterans Advocacy Group representing his fellow veterans in their claims with the VA, and also owns his own lobbying group Wisconsin Legislative Strategies. He is married to Carin and their three children, twin seven -year old daughters Abby and Ellie and their four-year old son William.

Jason served in the U.S. Army Reserve and WI Army National Guard from 1994-2004. He earned his first honorable discharge in August 2002 but volunteered for active duty with the 4th Infantry Division in early 2003. He received his Purple Heart for action in Iraq in 2003 and was honorably discharged for the second time in September of 2004. Patriot Johns has been a member of Chapter 0165 “The Iron Brigade” since 2011.
