Bill Hutton, a life member of California Chapter 750, joined MOPH
in 1997. He was past Chapter Commander (2004-2006), past Department Commander for
California (2007-2008) as well as past Department Public Safety Officer and Department
Service Officer, past Commander of
Region VI and National Junior Vice
Commander last year . . . . He served with the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969,
including a Vietnam tour in 1966 with the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines. His military
awards include the Silver Star and three Purple Heart Medals. . . . .Following his
military service, Patriot Hutton joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department,
retiring in 2003, after thirty-four years., as a Detective Sergeant, Narcotics Bureau.
He was awarded a Medal for Bravery and a Distinguished Service Award in 2003. .
. . .Active in community affairs, he is the head coach for the Ventura County Special
Olympics Power Lifting Team, part of his tenth year in coaching Special Olympics.
. . .In addition to MOPH membership, Patriot Hutton is also a lifetime member of
Disabled American Veterans and the Military Order of World Wars. . . .He enjoys
golf, kayaking, and working out.
