Patriot Buckingham is currently a Major in the USAF JAG Corps Reserves and a civilian attorney in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office of an international law firm. Prior to serving in the Reserves, Patriot Buckingham served on active duty for approximately five years. She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the USAF in May 2004 through the Air Force ROTC Program at the University of Notre Dame.
Patriot Buckingham was wounded on August 21, 2009 in Baghdad, Iraq and spent eight months recovering from her injuries at Brooke Army Medical Center, now San Antonio Military Medical Center, in San Antonio, Texas. After her recovery, she was able to continue on active duty for several years and separated to pursue a career in the Reserves in 2012.
Patriot Buckingham has been an MOPH member since 2009 when she began serving on the MOPH Scholarship Committee. She has served as the MOPH Scholarship Chairwoman since 2013. Previously, she also served as the Director of the MOPH Women Veterans Program. She belongs to Chapter 353, Virginia, “The Greater Washington Chapter.”
